The Air Jordan 1, adidas Forum, New Balance 550, Puma Slipstream, and now the Clarks Desert Run? A few years ago, Clarks dropped the Sandford which I labeled as their version of the Air Force 1. I picked up a pair and it became my sneaker CB-R09 for all of fall and winter. The suede was rough enough to look like a Timberland and the design immediately brought to mind the Flax Uptown. This time Clarks took the basketball court shoe concept and delivered a design which feels like it’s one part Dunk and one part Jordan 1. Right now the sneaker CB-R09 is only listed in women’s sizing, but as the fall weather seems as if it is going to arrive a lot sooner this year, if they drop the men’s and play around with some unique, but interesting colors (blue and cream) you can bet, this sneaker CB-R09 takes some of the attention from the kicks it draws inspiration from.
