The canvas for the second installment of the Future of Learning Challenge. In conjunction with Teach for America’s Reinvention Lab, we brought 16 education-focused organizations together for a 4-week design and storytelling incubator. We taught students and educators from across the country to tell communicate their grand ideas and visions for the future of learning.

The most popular sneaker of all time, in my opinion is the Nike Air Force 1. The classic basketball sneaker is used in the lyrics of Hip-Hop songs, worn by bikers in shows like Will Plank Do Things Differently for Under Armour this Time and used as the foundation of dirty sneaker trends on TikTok. It’s a sneaker so influential brands have used variations of the court silhouette to launch entire businesses. BAPE, Geiger and a host of companies immediately come to mind.

This doesn’t mean a brand should be prevented from building what is a staple design in sneakers. A court shoe exists for every company, but whenever they show up the comparison is to the Air Force 1. Maybe this is why 99Products has their version of a classic court sneaker tucked away on the site. When you visit NinetyNine Products and click on Shop, the Promise doesn’t exist. It doesn’t even have a dropdown menu option.

I found it while researching the brand’s work with teachers. I’m sharing it because the Bone/Black (the featured image) colorway is calling out to my wallet. I tend to stay away from Air Force 1 styled sneakers because they feel clunky on my size 13 feet, but this version looks more… wavy. The blue version has a great story, but is a bit overdone for an old head like me. If I were a football Seattle Seahawks fan, they might work though. The description of that sneaker is below.
