Jazerai Allen-Lord is one of the first women in the industry of sneaker news/blogs to consistently deliver content in what is basically a male dominated society that has always found itself short on representing women. She has worked consistently to level the playing field and Reebok took notice of her work. It doesn’t hurt that her social media following is solid and the number of consultations she’s had over the years has led to some of the dopest work done in our industry.
The release of her Club C 85 is my first purchase of a shoe designed by a woman which says a lot. The shoe only rang up at 95 dollars, but is one of the more premium drops I’ve picked up this year. It features a smooth suede toe bumper and heel counter with soft leather throughout the upper. The extended suede tongue is embossed with Roman numerals representing Jaz’s sons, pressed into the box where Reebok usually sits is the word “Blessed”. The footbed has art and quotes that celebrate the people and motivational words that push Jazerai to remain a prominent and important figure in the sneaker world and in marketing.
The shoe is topped off with two sets of waxed laces and at the heel Reebok is one shoe and IT’S A MAN’S WORLD is striked out on the other recalling the classic Reebok campaign and this revival celebrating the strength of women.
