These suede Veja V-10 W have an upper made from chrome-free tanned leather. This leather is smooth and lightweight. It comes from farms in southern Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul) and goes through an innovative tanning process that does not involve chrome, heavy metals or dangerous acids. By simplifying the tanning process, the use of chemicals and energy is limited, water consumption is reduced by about 40% and the use of salt by 80%. After tanning, the water is reusable. The side V logo is made of rubber and rice waste (22 %). The inner lining is made of jersey (33% organic cotton & 67% recycled polyester). The insole is made from sugar cane (34%), Amazonian rubber (11%), organic cotton (11%) & recycled ethylene vinyl acetate (8%), and the outsole is made from 59% organic and recycled materials. These suede Veja sneakers are made in Brazil, in the Porto Alegre region.
It is tanned in Brazil according to REACH standards. The use of water is justified during the tanning process. The tanneries that supply suede VEJA leather are L.W.G. Gold certified by the Leather Working Group, which promotes sustainable practices that have a positive impact on the environment in tanneries.

About suede Veja
The suede Veja brand was founded in Paris in 2005 by two friends, Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion. The two were inspired by the idea of changing people's consumer behavior in the long term and thus making the SPORTOWE a little bit better. The word "Veja" comes from Portuguese and translates as "look" or "look" - and that's exactly what the makers of suede Veja sneakers are all about. In addition to sneakers made of high-quality organic materials, suede Veja also has its own Vegan line. No animal materials are used in the production of these sneakers. Instead of leather, for example, waxed cotton in leather look is used or a material that consists of 50% corn waste from the food industry and goes by the name "C.W.L.". The first completely vegan sneaker from suede Veja was the "Branco". In the meantime, however, they have expanded the vegan range with a few more silhouettes.
