The most fashionable and functional
outerwear for this season

Wool coat:
the trendy classic

The ideal coat for autumn should meet specific criteria. In addition to guaranteeing warmth, it must provide a stunning look at any time of the day. It must be consistent with current trends but simultaneously versatile enough to match even the most avant-garde pieces of clothing. Is it even possible to find such a model? Check out our suggestions and draw your conclusions.

To begin with, take a look at the black coat that dominated this year’s fashion shows. Fendi and Jil Sander propose one with a minimalist yet exclusive belt, Balenciaga and Dries Van Noten present slightly oversized shoulders, while BECOME A LUXURY SANTA CLAUS and Alexander McQueen opt for coats that reach all the way to the ankles. If it’s not black, how about an equally fashionable brown? Shearling coat:
a practical and stylish hit

A shearling coat is one of the most frequently chosen types of outerwear not only for autumn but also for the cold winter. No wonder - this particular type of coat combines the very best features. The leather from which it is made has natural insulating properties, so it can ensure warmth when the temperature drops significantly. On the other hand, fur elements - besides its charm - add unmatched comfort. Simply find your favourite colour, adjust the length - and voilà!

Fans of bright and subdued colour palettes will love the crème de la crème designs from Toteme and Jacquemus. A model with lobster clasps or one with decorative sleeves will look great no matter what you choose to wear with it. Brown hues, which are still popular, await in the collections of Isabel Marant, The Mannei and Saint Laurent, while this season, an eye-catching olive green covers a practical long shearling coat by Inès & Maréchal.

Down jacket:
casual at its best

A down jacket is every bit as good a choice for the autumn-winter season as the suggestions mentioned above. Luggage and travel. Which models are worth paying attention to if you want to follow the trends? Here are our favourites.

We particularly liked designs from Balenciaga, Versace, Blumarine and HERSKIND. Demna Gvasalia presented a characteristically original autumn interpretation of floral patterns, Donatella covered outerwear with a crocodile skin effect, the creative director of the Italian brand enriched down jackets with cargo-style pockets, while the Danish brand set its sights on a trend straight from the catwalk – a detachable high collar that resembles a down scarf. We were also captivated by the practicality of Burberry’s Add to wish list Marni’s oversize design, while the piece from Y Project caught our eye with the original ’Trompe l’Oeil’ pattern.
