About Carhartt WIP
Carhartt, Inc was founded in 1889 by Hamilton Carhartt in __Detroit__. The first Carhartt products were workwear overalls made from durable duck & denim fabrics. The line of high quality outerwear continued and was complemented by other types of products such as jeans, dungarees and jackets. In the beginning, the company's main target group consisted of steel & railroad workers, among whom the legendary Carhartt dungarees were particularly popular. They appreciated the solid workmanship and durability of the pants. Since the brand's beginnings, it has been celebrated for its sturdy fabrics, comfortable cuts and functional designs by workers in a wide range of industries. The focus has always been on customer satisfaction. To ensure that the mission of the founder is still implemented in every garment, Carhartt Inc. is still family-owned today. The basic idea that Hamilton Carhartt pursued when he founded the brand in 1889 thus lives on. 130 years later, Carhartt is no longer limited to the production of robust workwear. Especially in the 80s & 90s, many began to wear clothes from Carhartt outside the work environment. Due to their casual and wide cuts, the clothes enjoyed great popularity, especially in the hip-hop and asos scene. With the rather accidental transition into the streetwear sector, the brand's success was unstoppable. In 1997, Carhartt founded a European offshoot called Carhartt WIP. The "WIP" stands for "work in progress." The line focuses more on fashionable designs, but without sacrificing the proven Carhartt quality. In the white of Carhartt and Carhatt WIP today you can find mainly high-quality jeans with contemporary cuts, comfortable fashionable sweaters, T-shirts, shirts, weatherproof outerwear and accessories such as beanies, caps or backpacks. Today, the Carhartt brand still stands for quality and thoughtful designs. As a result, it is very popular among convinced fans as well as in the mainstream. In recent years also followed collaborations with brands such as Nike, Converse, Patta Amsterdam or Stüssy.
