When he was eight years old, John Elliott sent his first design ideas to the Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. Back then, he was all about improving existing silhouettes and putting the finishing touches on them. The little boy from Los Angeles showed great ambitions early on, but was put in his place by Nike for the time being. John Elliott made the first concrete plans for his own brand as a freshman in high school, together with his longtime friend and companion Aaron Lavee. John Elliott Co. has now existed as a brand since 2012 and within a few years has managed to establish itself as a permanent part of the fashion world. One of the most important steps in John's young career came in 2015, when none other than style icon Kanye West attended a John Elliott show at New York Fashion Week and outed himself as a big fan of the fledgling brand. Today, John still calls this an important turning point and milestone for himself and his brand. The contemporary ready-to-wear basics are characterised by their high-quality materials and well thought-out cuts. Fabrics Development is the keyword here. John finds his inspiration above all in his roots, sunny California. In many of his collections you can find strong natural influences such as the sunny weather and the sea - behind every single piece is a well thought out and elaborate design concept. John sources the materials for his collections only from selected suppliers from various parts of the world. Selvedge denim from Japan, zippers from Switzerland and leather from Italy are brought together in a design workshop in Los Angeles to create an absolutely coherent look. Another milestone for John Elliott was also his collaboration with Nike. After being turned down at the age of 8, his big dream came true years later. John immortalized himself on the Hot Deals Men and even created a completely new silhouette in collaboration with basketball legend Lebron James. Stars like Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber and Whoopi Goldberg have long been fans of John Elliott and we are excited to see what he will surprise us with in the coming years.
