While style cues seem to derive from the U.S. and expand outward, there is always evidence that other countries get “it” just a bit more than the U.S. does. Footpatrol sneaker shop in the UK collabed with Karhu on an archive inspired sneaker rooted in winter running. This FootPatrol partnership was inspired by the “1980s KARHU Snow boot, dubbed the ‘Snowstar’. The Snowstar boot was KARHU’s answer to warm running shoes for fitness enthusiasts for winter use.”
Using the Fusion 2.0 sneaker as the base, the team at FootPatrol used, “a mix of water repellent nylon material, smooth nubuck, rubberized panels and OG branding. This pair is Footpatrol’s vision of a hard – wearing city runner that keeps its inspiration firmly imprinted into the snow, as did its predecessor, the Snowstar boot.”
As the season’s transition to fall and winter the UK has a dope addition to their options for wearing sneaker during the cold air months. What do you think of this drop? I think it makes it really difficult to add another pair of boots to the sneaker rotation. FootPatrol’s long legacy of collabs is always at the top of the list of sneaker of the year competitors.
